Overview
Nissan has unveiled the most powerful Patrol yet, the Patrol NISMO, for Middle East markets. It uses a bespoke tune of the new 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, lifting outputs to 369 kW and 700 Nm, paired with a 9-speed auto. Chassis upgrades include NISMO-specific dampers, steering calibration and forged 22-inch RAYS wheels that trim wheel mass.
There's an aero package with additional downforce and cooling, plus a sportier cabin treatment and Active Sound Enhancement. Nissan has not detailed infotainment or driver-assist features for NISMO. For Australia, Nissan has confirmed the new Patrol generation is coming in 2025, but has not announced any local plan for the NISMO variant.

Drivability & Practicality
The Patrol NISMO's brief is road-biased performance. Lighter forged wheels, revised damping and steering should sharpen responses and help curb body motion, while the aero work targets stability at speed. The 9-speed auto is calibrated for the higher-output tune.
Off-road hardware and towing guidance for NISMO are yet to be detailed. The mainstream new Patrol bound for Australia is expected to carry over serious ladder-frame underpinnings and a two-speed transfer case, but local towing, payload, GVM/GCM and fuel figures remain TBC. Australian buyers should expect premium-octane petrol for the twin-turbo V6 and real-world economy that will depend heavily on load and driving style.
Cabin & Tech
Inside, the NISMO treatment focuses on sporty trim, seats and unique finishes, plus Active Sound Enhancement. Nissan has not confirmed screen sizes, smartphone mirroring or connected services for NISMO. The broader new Patrol range is expected to step up with modern infotainment, digital instrumentation and expanded driver assists in Australia, but exact features, seat layouts and cargo figures are still to be confirmed. Third-row space and spare wheel format are also TBC.

Positioning & Competitors
Toyota LandCruiser 300: 3.3-litre twin-turbo diesel at 227 kW/700 Nm focuses on touring and off-road range, while Patrol NISMO targets on-road performance with a high-output petrol V6.
Lexus LX 600: 3.5-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 at 305 kW/650 Nm and a luxury skew. Patrol NISMO outguns it on power, but Lexus is available in Australia and NISMO is not confirmed.
Land Rover Defender 110 P400: 3.0-litre turbo-petrol at 294 kW/550 Nm with air-suspension options. Patrol NISMO is larger, ladder-frame and more overtly performance-themed.
Fleet & Ownership
Use case: Executive shuttle and VIP transport where petrol performance and presence matter.
Standout features for fleets:
High output 369 kW/700 Nm for confident overtaking with full loads
Potential efficiency gains from the 9-speed transmission versus older V8s, official figures TBC
Forged wheel and suspension tuning aimed at stability and braking consistency
Competition:
LandCruiser 300: 227 kW/700 Nm diesel prioritises range and towing; Patrol NISMO offers higher power but petrol running costs.
Lexus LX 600: 305 kW/650 Nm and luxury fitout available in AU now; Patrol NISMO has more power but is ME-only at launch.
Australian specification, warranty and servicing for the new Patrol will be confirmed closer to launch. Nissan Australia currently provides a 5-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty and roadside assist across its range, with capped-price servicing, but service intervals and costs for the new Patrol are unconfirmed. There is no ANCAP rating yet for the new Patrol; the outgoing Patrol was unrated.
